Frequently asked questions.

Will they really glow all night?
Yes! The photoluminescent pigment lasts for up to 26 hours on a single charge. You will still see them glowing in the morning. Mine are on trails with full tree cover and are charged throughout the day with ambient light (not direct). They are always glowing in the morning when the sun comes up.
When I open my package, why are then not glowing?
When you first receive the package, remember that the tops are discharging over time, and likely have lost all the photons they collected by the time they reach your house. Simply place outside during the day and they will charge and be ready by nightfall.
I have lots of streetlights in my neighborhood. Will they still be visible?
These trail markers are for showing paths in the dark. Streetlights and other ambient light will make the glow less pronounced.
How far apart do they need to be spaced to follow the trail in the dark?
I place mine about 3-4 feet apart down one side of my trail and can easily follow it in the dark.
Will they light up the whole path?
While they do radiate light photons collected during the day, they will not show you every detail of roots and rocks. You will need to be able to walk by feeling with your feet to look for obstacles. This is for night navigation with minimal light pollution while still being able to follow the trail.
How long can they continued to be charged?
The company that makes the photoluminescent pigment states that it can last for 30+ years. I personally have had mine out in my yard for 5 years with no decrease in their brightness over that time.
How are these more eco-friendly than other lighting options?
First, there are no batteries or electricity required.
These can last for decades. This is in comparison to solar lights which have limited lifespan and require direct sunlight and batteries. This also compares to single use chemiluminescent glow sticks which are single use and add to the waste stream.
Thermoset epoxy resin is superior to thermoplastics on the environment 🔗
Powder coated aluminum stakes are an ecofriendly choice because it is anticorrosive and extremely durable 🔗
Is the green yellow color the only one available, or are there other colors?
There are other colors, but the green/yellow color is the one that is the brightest and longest lasting. For the trail markers that is clearly the best options. For garden art, I may consider doing other colors for decor as the length and brightness of the glow are not as critical.
